🌿 June 1 Salt Spa Bar Workshop: Sign Up & Save at Market Today!
I’m thrilled to finally be offering workshops at the new farm, and we’re kicking things off on Sunday, June 1 with a hands-on, super-satisfying session where we’ll make Himalayan Salt Spa Bars.
These bars are creamy, mineral-rich, gently exfoliating, and naturally tinted with madder root and rose clay. We’ll scent them with a calming blend of essential oils and you get to take it home that same day (unusual in the world of bar soap)!
Vegan, allergen-free, and made to feel like a warm ocean dip meets your favorite garden path. Hope to see you there!
pssssssssttttt- If you sign up at the Pittsboro Farmer’s Market, you’ll get a special discount!
Step into the scent and color of the season at the Word & Plant booth this Thursday. We’re bringing freshly restocked batches of our beloved Silken Body Polish, including the crowd-favorite Woodland Awakening blend—rich with grounding essential oils and that magical rinse-to-lotion finish.
Our Sweet Green Soothing Lotion is back too—this tiny but mighty herbal remedy is perfect for summer bug bites, dry patches, and everyday skin flair-ups. Originally made for frontline nurses, it’s become a go-to for anyone who needs a little plant-powered comfort on the go.
You’ll also find our Botanical Body Lather, an ultra-gentle, plant-based liquid soap that’s as versatile as it is nourishing. Whether you’re refilling a favorite bottle or customizing your first blend with one of our signature oils, we’ve got everything you need for your summer skin routine.
Of course, our Edible Petal Posies return in full bloom after last week’s rain delay—bursting with vibrant flowers and flavorful herbs from the garden, perfect for picnics, plating, or joyful snacking. Enjoy a couple of recipes below!
And speaking of joyful…CHECK OUT Amelia’s latest offerings (and restocks!) for Pom Pom & Petal below the recipes and come support our amazing kidpreneur!!
Warm Rainbow Veggie Toss with Petal Confetti
A quick, sautéed side dish that turns simple garden veggies into a plate of art.
Ingredients:
1–2 cups chopped rainbow chard (leaves and stems)
1 cup baby kale, chopped
1–2 sprigs rosemary, finely minced
1 Tbsp olive oil
Salt and cracked pepper to taste
Optional: splash of white balsamic or lemon juice
Petals and herbs from your Edible Petal Posy:
Torn snapdragons, violas, nasturtium, and bachelor’s buttons
A sprinkle of chopped lemon balm or orange lemon balm
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add rosemary and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add chard stems first, cook 1–2 minutes, then add leaves and kale.
Sauté just until wilted and vibrant (3–4 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and a splash of acid if desired.
Plate and immediately sprinkle with a generous handful of petals and chopped herbs.
Serve warm or at room temperature—great with crusty bread, grilled halloumi, or your favorite protein.
Bloom & Breeze Garden Mocktail (or Cocktail)
A floral-herbal refresher that’s as lovely in the glass as it is on the palate.
Ingredients:
1 small handful apple mint or orange lemon balm, torn
1 tsp green coriander seeds (lightly crushed with the back of a spoon)
Juice of 1 lemon (or half lemon + half orange if available)
1–2 tsp local honey or agave (adjust to taste)
Sparkling water (or dry gin or botanical vodka for cocktail version)
Petals and herbs from your edible petal posy:
violas, bachelor’s buttons, nasturtium, and a rosemary sprig
Directions:
In a shaker or mason jar, muddle the herbs, green coriander, citrus juice, and honey/agave.
Add ice and shake well.
Strain into a glass with ice and top with sparkling water (or 1–2 oz spirit + splash of sparkling water).
Garnish generously with your edible flower petals and a sprig of rosemary for aromatic lift.
✨ Optional: Freeze flower petals into ice cubes in advance for extra visual magic.
