Join us for a burst of color and warmth in the heart of winter!
When the garden is resting and the days feel quiet and pale, there’s something magical about gathering bright botanicals and bringing color back into your world. This workshop is an invitation to step indoors on a cold January day and explore the beauty plants gift us with… even in midwinter!
You’ll work with a spread of botanicals, many you’ll be familiar with— flower confetti from the farm’s growing season: marigold, coreopsis, and goldenrod, plus an assortment of food “waste” dyestuffs, and others that may be new to you!
Your botanical silk becomes a little winter story: Soft washes, speckles, bursts of brightness—each piece unfolding in ways no one can predict, which is truly the best part!
You’ll head home with:
- A gorgeous silk wall art piece (approx. 20″ x 20″) botanically bundle dyed in your own winter palette
- A sense of how to keep bundle dyeing at home with simple, accessible plantstuffs
- Inspiration for the dye flowers you may want to grow come spring
If you want to keep experimenting without diving into textile prep work, extra pre-mordanted silks (squares and scarves) will be available at a workshop-only discount! Be forewarned… bundle dyeing is very much a gateway activity to further botanical color coaxing, and we can’t be held responsible for the color chaos that may unfold in your home afterward. Though we totally want you to share allll the pictures of it!
** Light refreshments are included; please let us know if you have any food restrictions – we’re more than happy to accomodate!
