Join me at the beautiful North Carolina Botanica Garden for a fabulous ‘make and take’ workshop where you’ll learn how to ecoprint cotton canvas tote bags with a variety of native flowers and leaves!
The class will cover…
1) How to scour cotton (and other plant fiber) fabric for eco-printing or natural dyeing
2) One way to mordant the fabric to get clear saturated flower and leaf prints that last
3) How to put together a simple setup for eco-printing at home
4) Tips on composition, folding, and bundling
5) Troubleshooting some common issues that might occur
6) Caring for your eco-printed bag to preserve its beauty
Sign-up through the NC Botanical Garden and you’ll receive a link to the private listing in my shop for the supplies and materials to make your own ecoprinted cotton canvas tote!
Each student may purchase up to TWO kits (either to make both in class or to take one home to make later). The $25 kits are deeply discounted for enrolled students (60% less than retail pricing!) and include:
🌿 A variety of farm grown or ethically foraged native botanicals suitable for natural dyeing/ecoprinting, some pressed and others fresh
🌿 A cotton canvas tote bag, scoured, mordanted and ready to print (students will receive written instructions in class for prepping their own at home in the future.)
I can’t wait to see you at the Garden on Sept. 7! Be sure to sign-up for my emails to know about upcoming classes and programs there and at my farm in Pittsboro!
