NC Botanical Garden: Hypoallergenic Herbal Liquid Soapmaking from Scratch

Join me at the beautiful North Carolina Botanical Garden for this fun and informative make & take workshop on how to make herbal liquid soap in your kitchen with very simple equipment.

During the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of the almost-lost art of liquid soapmaking:

1. SAFETY
2. Formulating a recipe
3. Choosing herbs to infuse in your oils ahead of time
4. Herbs to add when you dilute your soap paste if desired, and
5. Diluting your soap paste into your own unique liquid soap suitable for your skin type and any skin issues you or your loved ones.

The beauty of liquid soap is that the paste can be made ahead of time (what we’ll do during the workshop) and stored indefinitely. When you need more liquid soap, you just dilute it and use it! The dilution phase is a wonderful time to customize, scent, and decide on your preferred consistency.

With 25+ years of experience handcrafting herbal skincare (begun to address my own lifelong skin challenges), I specialize in formulating allergy-friendly herbal products. The soap made during the workshop (as well as the formulation tips I’ll provide) will be free of the Top 9 food allergens, free from artificial fragrance and pigments, and safe for most
